The 5th Week In The CCM...July 5, 2018

Hola everybody halfway through my fifth week here in the CCM excited to be getting close to getting out of here its kind of becoming a drag being stuck in this facility and a class room doing spanish for hours on end everyday but i know i gotta learn that stuff so its all good. one of the only fun things to really do here is to go to the tienda which is like this little store they run where everything is stupid cheap like one us doller is worth 20 pesos and candy is like 5 to 10 pesos which is great and they give us 100 pesos a week so we go to the tienda every day because its our entertainment. we found a guy here from bahia blanca in argentina it was cool trying to talk to him didnt understand most of it because he talks so fast and has an accent but he had good things to say about cordoba or at least i think he did... anyways got a picture of him hes whiter than me and pretty tall so not your average south american look. we also found a hermana from buenos aires who said the people in cordoba talk like they are singing which ive heard before but now its confirmed again and some other latin people talked about all the meat there so im excited for that since the cafeteria food here is super mediocre. one exciting thing that happened is one night all the cordoba boys were hanging out and talking and all of a sudden we heard what sounded kind of like a shoot out or drive by from the city kind of wild hopefully nobody died some of the latinos here say that the area around the CCM is pretty ghetto and they dont come around these parts. we are only supposed to speak spanish the fifth and sixth week so our district decided to have a rock of shame for whoever speaks english and what do you know the first day i ended up with this said rock so i drew a face on it anyways not much time left so ill try and put some pictures in here to spice things up. and if any of you guys have scriptures i need scriptures for all the topics in the preach my gospel so if any of you ex missionaries want to hook me up that would be fantastic!

Hello friends and family this week was a little frustrating but im hopeful for the weeks to come soon. We have been working hard in the villa and branched out a little bit to this hill kind of next to it we found a guy named Ariel a while back and he seems to have potential but we didnt manage to get him to church cause his son was sick but he seems honest when he says he wants to go funny thing about him is when i contacted him the first time i asked him if he was a person that believes (sounds better in spanish) una persona muy creyente and he was eating something and with his mouth full goes "MM" and turns his leg and hes got a big ol tattoo of jesus on his leg it was awesome. We are trying to teach this girl priscila she is interested she also comes from a family of 12 kids but those 12 kids and their friends who tend to follow us and ruin our lessons which got really frustrating one day after it happened 3 times. The last 12 hours....

Monday, June 2nd, Jordan was set apart as a full time missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  For one last hurrah we went for ice cream.  This was good-bye to Sara and Charlie and their family.  They have taken good care of Jordan for the last year and a half.                  Saying Good-bye to the littles who won't be so little when they see Jordan again. El Bautismo.....August 14, 2018

Hola familia y amigos this week was good! We got our first baptism and ended the 8 month streak of no baptisms in this area! Her name was Carina Fuentes and I was able to do the baptism it was super cool we even managed to get some investigators to go to the baptism and watch it, they thought it was cool that we were all in white and really beautiful. I was pretty nervous about saying the words especially in spanish but I managed to do it all without messing up. We have been working with a family in the villa called familia Garay its a single mom with 12 kids kind of crazy. We have found some news so hopefully we can keep baptisms going in this ward and build it up nice and good. Pictures are below of me and my comp Elder Larsen and the view out our apartment, we dont actually work close to our apartment we walk quite a bit to the east to the villas where there are more people to talk with. kind of out of time but love you all and have a great week!
