hola ultra vez.....Sptember 18, 2018

Hello friends and family this week was a little frustrating but im hopeful for the weeks to come soon. We have been working hard in the villa and branched out a little bit to this hill kind of next to it we found a guy named Ariel a while back and he seems to have potential but we didnt manage to get him to church cause his son was sick but he seems honest when he says he wants to go funny thing about him is when i contacted him the first time i asked him if he was a person that believes (sounds better in spanish) una persona muy creyente and he was eating something and with his mouth full goes "MM" and turns his leg and hes got a big ol tattoo of jesus on his leg it was awesome. We are trying to teach this girl priscila she is interested she also comes from a family of 12 kids but those 12 kids and their friends who tend to follow us and ruin our lessons which got really frustrating one day after it happened 3 times. She also doesnt know how to read she is 14 most people in ...

Hola familia y amigos.....September 11, 2018

Another week down here in Córdoba we have been working hard with the people in the villa unfortunately we did not get as many people to church as we wanted to but hopefully things go better next week and we can put some people in the water. This week for the most part was pretty basic nobody tried to rob us in the villa which was nice but those are always entertaining. We have made friends with a lot of the watchos there now we always say hi to them while they smoke their weed and then tell them how to say weird things in english people in the villa will believe anything so its kinda funny. We also found a professional basketball player from miami that lives in our area. We were walking and there was this supe tall guy like 6" 8" he was huge and he starts talking to us in english so we talked to him it was super cool he said he played for argentina for 25 years and lives here now but goes to miami all the time, he also said we could play basketball with him some time and mayb...

The Cold Weather Brings Out The Weirdos.....September 4, 2018

Image
Hola friends and family this week was a pretty good one over all we did have a few days of clowdy weather where it went from one day being pretty warm to the next 3 being cold with some drizzle. The people here like to find excuses to not work so when it goes from warm to cold places just close up for the day and people dont go outside except in the villa where we work the watchos wonder around which puts us in a bad spot cause nobody is around and they try to rob us. Watchos did only attempt to rob us twice during this time and both times the first time we were clapping at a house(people here in the villas dont have doorbells at their gates so we clap to bring them out) and some guy started walking up to us so as missionaries we naturally greet him "hola cómo anda" he shakes our hands greets us back then he goes "tiene celular?" I pull out both the books from my pockets the mission rules and my agenda and look him dead in the eyes and say ...

What can be worse than having to wash your clothes in a bucket? well losing that bucket unfortunately this has happened to us and i dont know how i will have mediocrly clean clothes anymore. Any ways besides losing our bucket this week was great we baptised two people! it was great and now they are out in their villa doing our work for us preaching the good word and telling everyone how great they feel and better they are because of it and so we were able to get a few more contacts out of it so good things should be in store for us in this little villa. The names of the people are baptised are Marisa she is the mom she has 12 kids and we baptised her son Ismael hes a champ hes 9 but he loves church and when he got baptised he invited his friend maciel so he could be another baptism we talked to his mom as well she warmed up to us pretty well so hopefully we can get in that house and get that family too. We also are trying to work with some of the other kids of marisa since she has so m...

Only One Week Left For the Transfer....August 21, 2018

Time goes pretty quick out here in the mission not gonna lie cant believe its almost been a whole transfer. Wednsday we learn who stays and who goes in our zone people are a little sad cause our zone is super cool and we have a lot of fun ill most likely stay since im still training for another transfer but we might get a new zone leader and a few other elders out here maybe even another newbie like me i just hope if hes gringo i know better spanish than him. We got a family partially lined up for baptism next sunday the mom and her son for sure we will put in the water but she has two other sons with an asistencia that we could put in the water as well if they come to church so hopefully they come through. Sad story of the week is that we found this lady cristina and taught her a lesson and during the lesson her brother came out they both go to different churches so we invited both of them to ours and they were cool with it so we were like dope. Then later in the week we went back to ...

El Bautismo.....August 14, 2018

Hola familia y amigos this week was good! We got our first baptism and ended the 8 month streak of no baptisms in this area! Her name was Carina Fuentes and I was able to do the baptism it was super cool we even managed to get some investigators to go to the baptism and watch it, they thought it was cool that we were all in white and really beautiful. I was pretty nervous about saying the words especially in spanish but I managed to do it all without messing up. We have been working with a family in the villa called familia Garay its a single mom with 12 kids kind of crazy. We have found some news so hopefully we can keep baptisms going in this ward and build it up nice and good. Pictures are below of me and my comp Elder Larsen and the view out our apartment, we dont actually work close to our apartment we walk quite a bit to the east to the villas where there are more people to talk with. kind of out of time but love you all and have a great week! RIP My Glasses....August 7, 2018

So this week has been good we worked really hard found a bunch of new people taught a bunch of lessons and managed to have a number of 6 people in church! I cant take too much credit because i mostly just follow my comp around hes a machine and i just try to pick up on what spanish that I can which gets better little by little but I still cant hold a conversation very well. So one of the craziest events of the week was on sunday I decided to wear my glasses cause sundays are usually more chill so I did and early in the morning we got up and headed out to try and get some people to church weve been working in this little villa where its so ghetto the streets dont have names all the houses are just concrete shacks but the people are usually way more willing to listing in these areas and this villa since its not really on the map and we kind of just found it doesnt seem to have had much missionary work done in it yet, We went to a house of this mom that has 12 kids in this villa and while...
